Illness As Feedback

As inconvenient as they are, bodily symptoms can actually be messengers in disguise.  They have arrived front and centre to tell us that our way of being in the world is not in harmony with our deepest Self.  We have forgotten something about ourselves. Our soul is crying out for an upgrade.  We are more valuable than we thought.

Let’s look within

Chronic illness in the body can be part of a feedback loop, telling us that there is something that we are holding onto in our emotions or beliefs that is ripping us off.

Since the illness is here now, why not use the opportunity to stop and listen deeply within ourselves and sense into the programs that have been running us, and see how they have been driving our behaviour.

No need to self blame here. It is likely we have unwittingly ended up with these programs just by being here.  We have absorbed them from the mass consciousness and have come to think of them as ‘normal’ as everyone else is doing it.  Yet, our soul is calling us to let something go, to integrate something, or to love ourselves a little more.

Body Scanning

Just this week, I committed to Joey Remenyi’s 7 day program for steadiness and healing vertigo.  As a part of it I am doing a body scan every evening.  Slowly I feel all the different parts of my body one section at a time.

This simple 5 minute activity is bringing me deeper into my body.   As I do it, I am noticing some of the ‘chips’ or ‘programs’ that are active in my nervous system.  They have been there for most of my life, yet I am only properly noticing them now.

Computer glitches in the nervous system

There is likely a few ‘chips’ that are working together to create my vertigo.  I have now become aware of one of them – the ‘chip’ that is causing a constant low level revving in the background of my nervous system.  It is a chip saying that ‘there isn’t enough time’, ‘I have to hurry up’.  This in turn is causing a constant low level unrest, shallow breathing and a mild fluttering anxiety.  The story is that I’m afraid that I won’t get things done in time.  It is self imposed and unnecessary and coming from a belief in the lack of time.  It is coming from fear rather than love.

Now that I am aware of the ‘chip’, I am actively removing it and installing a new program.  My new program is more reflective of Christ as it says ‘It is already done’, ‘It is unfolding in the perfect timing with Christ’, ‘I am doing my best.’  I now give myself the necessary time I need to complete a task.  I am worth that.

Retaining our power centre

I am no longer willing to give my power away to rushing.  I am no longer willing to loose my ground and to allow my head to take me out of my body. It doesn’t matter how may people are waiting on me. I will consider others by planning for realistic time frames.   This is self kindness.  I’ve decided to give myself an upgrade.

Let’s have a look

We can try it now….

Feel the cells inside your feet…

Now feel your legs…. your torso…. and your arms…..

Notice your breath…

Notice any of the sensations that are in your body.

Hone right in on them.

Welcome them, greet them and listen.

If you notice something in certain area, take your awareness deep inside it and ask…. “How are you feeling?”  “What do you need?” Wait and receive an answer.  There is no rush.
